After spending most of my twenties thinking mortgages are a dirty word and investing is a term only used by finance bros and people who vote conservative. I decided to teach myself everything I can about money & financial independence and I am now documenting it here for other people to benefit from.

I became a single mum a couple of years ago and navigating benefits, self employment and childcare was a crash course in how fucked our system is and how little information there is to help you work through it. I have spent the last few years supporting people at risk of financial hardship and have learnt a lot about navigating our stretched welfare system and surviving the times when it feels it will never get better.
